Beautiful & Rare Art Nouveau Triangular Dish by Paul Louchet with a fine relief decoration of stylized daisy blossoms. 1″ (2.54cm) x 4-1/2″ (13.716cm).
Excellent condition with faint surface scratches and a production-related defect on the Paul Louchet foundry stamp “PARIS LOUCHET CISELEUR”. The bottom of the dish is marked “Alp.L.P.L.” for Alphonse Lamarre & Manufacture Pillivuyt.
Paul Louchet was a painter, a sculptor and a bronze maker.
His workshop was located at 3, rue Auber in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Friend of Louis Majorelle, Jean Daum and René Lalique, he was president of the union chamber of bronze manufacturers.
Paul Louchet won gold at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and won a grand prize at the exhibitions of Saint-Louis, Liège and Milan. Appointed Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor by decree of July 13, 1908.
